Today marked the launch of the annual Missions Conference at Oak Mountain Church. Prior to last year, I had never been able to attend the event due to my work schedule. And where was I this morning? Where was I for the International Dinner this evening? Sitting here on my tuckus working. Special thanks to guest photog Kelli for this one.

And yes, I referenced Cheech & Chong AND used Yiddish slang in describing an event at my Protestant church. I’m reformed like that.

I’m working all weekend in order to deliver a project by Monday morning. When I pull long hours at the editing system, my desk tends to look like this at the end of the day, bearing the scars and wounds of hours of caffeine-fueled, microwave-fed, semi-artistic labor.

Shot in Hipstamatic, using the Helga Lens and Pistil film. Edited in TiltShiftGen.

Sometimes the easiest way to translate effects settings from one video proect to another is to simply write them down. See? Pencil & paper aren’t dead, yet.

I never do these pics in the morning, but I decided today that I would continue the series depicting one of my favorite views inside our house. This was at 9am. The sun was still relatively low, but high enough to clear the trees of the wooded area across the street and hit the front of our house full-bore.

Shot in Pro Camera and edited in Photoshop Mobile.

Tonight was board game night in the Franklin house. Each of us picked a game. My choice? Connect 4×4, because I knew it’d make for a good pic of the day.

The apps: Pro Camera & Tilt-Shift Gen

I got out in the cold and practiced a little softball with my daughter today. Thanks to finances, she hasn’t played in two years. That didn’t slow her down. She’s just naturally gifted in the sport. Since I’ve never been much of an athlete, she must get it from her mother.

Shot this with Pro Camera and edited in Tilt-Shift Generator.

Whenever it rains in our neighborhood, water seeps out of the saturated soil, through a retaining wall and then streams down a channel in the middle of our driveway. The last year or so has been one of the wettest on record, so we routinely live with this “river” running through the property down to the street.

I shot this with Camera Pro, edited in Photoshop Mobile, Best Camera (using double vignettes and the Candy filter) then in Lo-Mob, using a retro paper effect, though I honestly can’t recall which.

Looking down the Franklin River toward the street.

When you’re in a camera-friendly location, it’s tough to limit yourself to only a single photo of the day.  Here are some of the ones I didn’t choose yesterday…
