Okay, I couldn’t have my only entry today be a sappy, grainy sunset. Every Sunday night, our church meets in small groups called LIFE Groups. (I seem to recall that standing for Learning Intercession Fellowship and Evangelism, but don’t quote me on that.)
I snapped this in Hipstamatic tonight, using the Helga lens and the Kodot Verichrome “film” then processed it in Lo-Mob, using the 1970′s 6×6 TTV (Through-the-Viewfinder) Grid filter.

My 365, Day 24 – Under the Covers

Okay, get your minds out of the gutter! The Birmingham area was under a blanket of heavy grey clouds all weekend. When the sun decided to make a cameo appearance this afternoon, I thought it worth celebrating in a photo of the day. I promise to do something funky and not nearly so pedestrian as a sunset tomorrow.
I shot this with Camera Pro, using the zoom at about 4x, then edited in Photoshop Mobile and Best Camera.

My 365, Day 23 – Sci Pop

The family and I hit the US Space & Rocket Ctr in Huntsville today. Seeing all those artifacts from the heyday of the Apollo program brought out my inner Warhol.
I did the damage in Photoshop Mobile and Lo-Mob.

My 365, Day 22 – Aftermath

We had our dear friends the Tomberlins over for dinner tonight. Problem is, I’m too full of good food to clean up the aftermath. Guess I’ll get in a couple of episodes of Lost and see how I feel later. (That’s code for “it can wait until morning.”)

My office is in a dark, windowless basement. So whenever I get the opportunity to come “topside,” I do – if for no other reason than my own sanity. This afternoon, my wife was running errands, the kids were out back playing with neighborhood friends, and I had my favorite chair and favorite view all to myself.
I may do more pics from this vantage point to study the dramatic changes in light through the bay window throughout the day.

My 365, Day 20 – Wanted

Last night, when my daughter saw her brother as the subject of my picture of the day, she decided today was all hers. In fact, she art directed this one herself, deciding on theme, wardrobe and direction.
What’s cool is that the gun on the left was mine as a kid. In reality, the only thing this little marauder has ever stolen is my heart.
I edited this in two passes through Lo-Mob.

With last year’s recession-strained finances, one of our favorite family outings became a trip to Riverchase Galleria for a simple meal, a ride on the carousel and visits to the Disney and Lego stores. And here we are again, enjoying the little things.
