These days, prepping for a commercial or long-form shoot can look more like an IT intervention for a still photographer. Tonight I’m backing up SD cards, formatting drives and creating disk images. Oh, and I did a little camera setup, too.

This was the sky over The Summit in B’ham as we were heading to a birthday dinner for Savannah and her Granny, who share a birthday. This is pretty typical of the afternoon storms that seem to find us every day.

Today was my oldest’s cosmic bowling birthday party: two hours of grade school girls flinging bowling balls against bumpers and licking their way into semi-respectable scores. And one four-year-old boy rolling the ball so slowly it seemed to go backward in time. In short: two hours of fun.
